Recovery

This is taken from Rockymountainnews.com:

GAME PLAN
Right-handed pitcher Scott Dohmann, placed on the disabled list because of the impact of a virus he battled last week, has begun full workouts and bullpen sessions in his first steps of recovery. He is expected to pitch in a game this weekend and will remain in extended spring training to build strength. Once he is game ready, he will be sent on a minor-league rehabilitation assignment.

More Bad News

From the AZSTARNET website:

"...Reliever Scott Dohmann, who hasn't pitched since March 19, remains ill with a viral infection. Pitching coach Bob Apodaca said Dohmann, who went home Monday after playing catch, "is not close to healthy right now."
Manager Clint Hurdle said the possibility of Dohmann's illness keeping him off the opening-day roster was "realistic." ...."

Way Under the Weather

Scott was taken to the ER today, he hasn't been feeling well all week and finally was taken in for some relief.
I haven't heard what he is sick from, but I will keep everyone posted.
Thoughts and prayers are with him, Tara and Gavin, and the rest of the family.

*UPDATE*

It would appear that Scott has an infection, which may be allergy related. He was given medicine for his sore throat, and was realeased from the hospital. We're hoping for a speedy recovery!

Established?

Right-hander Scott Dohmann staked his claim to a job with two sparkling innings for a win over Seattle on Sunday: "Scottie Dohmann has got a foot in that door if not two feet," Apodaca said.

Looking good, so far. I believe Scott throws today. I'll try and get the update if he does throw.

Oh Yeaaah!

"..Scott Dohman provided solid relief for two innings, allowing two hits while striking out three for the win..."

He also picked up the win. Now he's starting to cook! Those 3 strikeouts ties him for the most on the team (9), including starters.

Update

I am unable to watch any of the games, and stats are tough to come by during spring training. However, Scott is battling his way to opening day form. A few rough spots, but he is constantly working out the bugs.

Meet the Rockies

Dan has a nice "meet the team" theme going, complete with inside stats and predictions. Give him a look!

Phooey

So close on his last inning pitched, Scott had one strikeout and two fly-outs. Unfortunately, there was a homerun in the mix there also. Again, this is what preseason is for!
By opening day, all of the bugs will be worked out.

Slight Stumble

Scott threw one inning yesterday against Kansas City. One inning, 3 hits, 2 runs, one strikeout.
That is what pre-season is for, right?

I'll try and get more details to post.

Preseason Starts!

Scott threw his first inning of the season Thursday against the White Sox. No hits, one walk, no runs....... starting off on the right foot so far. If anyone has more details on the game, feel free to email them. Thanks!

Blah

According to this article, the Rockies aren't predicted to do well in final numbers for the season. I think it's junk... who the hell comes up with those numbers anyway??
